Tehran- IRAF- Ali al‑Qaredaghi issued a fatwa calling for the immediate cessation of the conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan during Ramadan.
In a statement accompanying this religious ruling, he emphasized that war between Muslim countries contradicts the teachings of Islam and that protecting the lives of Muslims is a fundamental religious principle.
The head of the International Union of Muslim Scholars described stopping the war during this month as a religious obligation and urged the leaders of Afghanistan and Pakistan to halt the clashes before the final ten days of Ramadan.
Al‑Qaredaghi also proposed that, in order to resolve the disputes, negotiations be held after Eid al‑Fitr under the supervision of Islamic countries such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, suggesting that these states could mediate the current crisis.
Emphasizing the necessity of preserving unity among Islamic countries, he warned that the continuation of internal conflicts weakens the Muslim world.
