Tehran- IRAF- the former Pentagon official stated that the U.S. claim of destroying Iran’s missile launchers lacks credibility. Pyne told Sputnik News: “Since the United States is clearly lying about the number of American military casualties in the current war with Iran, the accuracy of other U.S. claims is also questionable.”
According to the former U.S. Defense Department officer, “U.S. estimates of the total number of Iran’s ballistic missiles are probably far lower than the real figure, because I believe Iran may have tens of thousands of missiles in its stockpiles.”
He added: “Although the United States and Israel have succeeded in destroying some of Iran’s mobile missile launchers, Iran has become skilled at keeping its remaining launchers out of harm’s way. Therefore, most of Iran’s missile launchers, especially those hidden deep underground—will likely survive even if the war lasts for months.”
Pyne warned that the United States and Israel are now dealing with a “very limited stockpile” of offensive missiles and missile interceptors, and their missile interceptors may run out by next week.
According to him, the United States may soon find itself unable to defend all of its assets against Iranian attacks, while Iran is systematically destroying Washington’s radar capabilities in the region—something that would further reduce the U.S. ability to intercept Iranian missiles.
In Pyne’s view, Israel’s air defense has proven to be “largely ineffective” against Iran’s ballistic and hypersonic missiles. He added: “In a prolonged war of attrition like the one that is taking shape, Iran will likely win.”
