Tehran-IRAF- Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban, in a press conference on Tuesday, March 3, criticized the performance of the United Nations, stating that the Security Council has lost its value, and its meetings on tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan are fruitless.
Mujahid added that he expects nothing from the upcoming UN Security Council meeting on tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan. He emphasized that representatives of the Taliban should be present in these meetings, but the UN has denied Afghanistan this right.
Mujahid stated that under Pakistani aggression against Afghanistan, civilians are being attacked, and Afghan migrants in Pakistan are facing many problems. However, the Security Council continues to hold meetings on repetitive issues without any results.
UN Spokesperson, Stephane Dujarric, provided new statistics on the casualties of the Pakistani military attacks on Afghanistan. According to him, these attacks resulted in the killing of 34 civilians and injuring 89 others.
The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) confirmed this report, stating that women and children are among the killed and injured.
UNAMA’s Confirmation of Taliban’s Claim
This UN report comes as Taliban officials had previously claimed that Pakistani forces targeted areas near the Durand Line and bombed residential homes.
The Taliban’s spokesperson reiterated that the group’s expectations from the international community, particularly the UN, are low, and they will not achieve any results through these meetings.
