Tehran-IRAF- Pope Leo XIV, the leader of the world’s Catholics, on Sunday called for an immediate end to the war in West Asia and the establishment of a ceasefire.
The Associated Press reported that Pope Leo XIV said that, on behalf of Middle Eastern Christians and all women and men of goodwill, he is calling on authorities to declare a ceasefire so that conditions for dialogue can be created.
The Pope emphasized that violence will never bring about the justice, stability, and peace that people expect.
According to the report, in his remarks—without naming the United States or the Zionist regime—the Pope referred to an attack that targeted a school.
In the early days of the aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, an attack on a school in the city of Minab resulted in the martyrdom of more than 165 students.
