Blatant Violation of International Law and a Threat to Regional Security: Reaction of 14 Islamic Countries to Remarks by Trump’s Ambassador in the Occupied Territories

Tehran- IRAF- The foreign ministers of 14 Islamic countries and the secretariats of three regional and Islamic bodies expressed “deep concern” over the recent remarks by the U.S. ambassador in Tel Aviv in a statement released today (Sunday, February 22) in Islamabad.

The member states condemned the remarks and firmly rejected them, describing them as a clear violation of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The signatories considered these positions a serious threat to regional security and stability.

The Israeli Regime Has No Sovereignty Over Occupied Territories

In another part of the statement, the foreign ministers warned that the remarks directly contradict the vision proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump for ending the Gaza conflict.

They emphasized that peace plans must be based on promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence, whereas such statements fuel tensions and are provocative rather than conducive to peace.

The member states firmly declared that the Israeli regime has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories or other occupied Arab lands.

They reiterated their strong opposition to any attempt to annex the West Bank or separate it from the Gaza Strip, opposed the expansion of settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories, and firmly rejected any threat to the sovereignty of Arab countries.

Warning About the Consequences of Expansionist Policies

The signatories stressed the need to end such inflammatory statements and warned that continued expansionist policies and unlawful actions by the Israeli regime would only further inflame violence and conflict in the region, undermining prospects for peace.

Renewed Commitment to the Rights of the Palestinian People

In conclusion, the foreign ministries reaffirmed their commitment to the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and to establish an independent state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, as well as the end of the occupation of all Arab territories.

The statement was issued by the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine, as well as the secretariats of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Arab League, and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
