Referring to the specific scholarly and social qualifications required to enter this Assembly—qualifications not found in other institutions such as the Islamic Consultative Assembly—he stated: “The requirement of having discernment in religious and political matters makes the functioning of this Assembly, depending on the status of its members, more specialized and of greater rigor compared to similar institutions.”
Molla Amini also highlighted the distinction of the Assembly of Experts in being elected through “direct public vote,” a feature that sets it apart from other elite‑based structures.
He added: “This body benefits both from outstanding specialists and from public acceptance. Because it consists of experts, it has a special advantage, and because its members are directly elected by the people, it also possesses the element of public legitimacy.”
Legality, Legitimacy, and Acceptance: Pillars of Selection in the Assembly of Experts
Emphasizing that the election of the highest authority of the Islamic system within this Assembly is grounded in “legality,” he noted: “What the Assembly of Experts does and whomever it elects is the outcome of a legal process; therefore, any doubt regarding the extra‑legal nature of its actions is invalid.”
The Secretary of the Followers of Mahdi Association further considered the aspect of legitimacy to arise from the religious expertise of the Assembly members, and the element of public acceptance to be certain due to their direct election by the people.
He described the election of the Assembly members by the people as “legitimate, acceptable, and lawful” from a constitutional standpoint, calling adherence to it a “definite duty” for any Muslim seeking to elevate pure Islam and preserve the Islamic system.

Molla Amini concluded by stating that yielding to this legitimate, accepted, and lawful selection is not only a religious obligation but also a rational necessity for safeguarding the dear Iran from any potential aggression or invasion. Declaring “his allegiance to the third bearer of Islamic Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei (may God protect him),” he prayed for the increasing success of His Eminence.
