In recent years, the question of Iran’s future leadership and the prospect of a new leader had become one of the key concerns among elites and decision-makers. The selection of a new leader—and the acceptance of his authority from religious, customary, and political perspectives—was regarded as a sensitive and complex matter that, under normal circumstances, could have turned into an arena of political rivalry and contention, potentially bringing turbulence to the course of the revolution.
Yet, amid these complexities, events unfolded that many interpret as a sign of divine wisdom and providence, as if the scattered pieces of a difficult puzzle had unexpectedly fallen into place. At precisely that moment, the policy of confrontation and threats pursued by Donald Trump reached its peak, and tensions ultimately escalated into war.
However, the outcome was not what the architects of that policy had anticipated. Despite those threats and the tense atmosphere surrounding them, the process of selecting a new leader was carried out, and the country passed through a stage that could have become a source of crisis. For many observers, this reality demonstrated just how flawed the calculations of Trump and his allies had been.
In conclusion, what had been intended as a tool to undermine stability ultimately produced the opposite effect. A strategy designed to exert pressure and weaken the system instead served, above all, to expose the failure of Trump’s own calculations.
