According to Iraf, the protesters, chanting slogans, demanded the halt of the deportation process of Afghan asylum seekers and the cessation of any cooperation with the Taliban government.
According to the organizers of this gathering, Afghanistan under Taliban rule is not a safe country for the return of refugees and human rights should not be sacrificed by Germany’s immigration policies.
These protests take place while German media have recently reported that Taliban representatives may be involved in the identification and screening process of Afghan asylum seekers for deportation to this country.
Human rights activists emphasized that cooperation with the Taliban in this matter endangers the lives of asylum seekers and is inconsistent with international human rights standards.
