According to Iraf, the Russian ambassador in Pakistan emphasized that denying girls and women access to education is the most significant barrier to Afghanistan’s development and progress.
Speaking to reporters in Islamabad, Khuryev stated: “Without access to education for women and girls, sustainable development and progress in Afghanistan will not be possible.”
He stressed that respecting basic citizen rights is essential for any government and urged the Taliban to treat the right to education as a fundamental principle.
Khuryev also warned about the security situation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, noting that regional security conditions are gradually changing.
