According to Iraf, Afghanistan’s U-20 football team will take on Uzbekistan today (Wednesday, May 13) at 4:30 PM Kabul time in its second group-stage match of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) Championship.
This match plays a decisive role in Afghanistan’s path forward in the tournament, and earning points could change Afghanistan’s position in the standings.
The coaching staff is trying to reduce defensive mistakes and bring more discipline into the flow of the game in order to deliver a different performance compared to the first match.
Afghanistan lost its opening game yesterday to Turkmenistan by a score of 3–1.
Turkmenistan scored all three goals in the first half, while Afghanistan’s only goal came in added time of the same half.
The second half passed without any change in the scoreline, and Afghanistan left the field defeated.
