Tehran- IRAF- CNN, citing a knowledgeable source, reported on Tuesday night that the CIA office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was targeted in the drone attack on Monday, which also targeted the US Embassy.
The source stated that no casualties were reported, but significant damage was inflicted on the building, which is located within the same compound as the embassy.
The Washington Post also reported that the CIA office was damaged in the attack, but the CIA declined to comment on the matter.
The joint military aggression by the US and the Israeli regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which resulted in the martyrdom of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, began on February 28, 2026.
This action was taken while indirect negotiations between Iran and the US were underway, mediated by certain regional countries.
Analysts believe that this action demonstrated that the US does not practically adhere to the principles of dialogue, trust-building, and peaceful resolution of differences, and still uses the military option as a tool of political pressure.
The Islamic Republic of Iran responded decisively, purposefully, and proportionately to this action. As part of this legitimate response, military and security positions of the Israeli regime in various cities of occupied Palestine, as well as bases and centers of US forces in the region, were precisely targeted with missile, drone, and aerial attacks.
Official authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasized that these operations were conducted within the framework of the inherent right of self-defense, according to Article 51 of the UN Charter, with the aim of deterrence, prevention of continued aggression, and imposing costs on aggressors.
The Islamic Republic of Iran warned that any continuation or expansion of aggression will be met with a more severe and extensive response.
