Afghan and Pakistani Nationals Intercepted at the Polish Frontier

According to Iraf, the Polish Border Guard announced on Thursday, 14 May, that its forces had detained five migrants from Afghanistan and Pakistan during the stop of a vehicle suspected of human trafficking.

According to border officials, these individuals intended to enter Germany illegally from Polish territory.

Based on the released statement, the driver of the vehicle was a 26-year-old man from Georgia, who was transporting the migrants from Lithuania toward Germany.

Polish authorities stated that the individual was returned to Georgia after completing legal procedures.

The statement further added that three Afghan citizens and two Pakistani citizens, after being detained, were also sent back to Lithuania.

The Polish Border Guard has not disclosed the identities of these individuals.

In recent days, reports have indicated an increase in the detention of Afghan migrants at Poland’s eastern and western borders—a trend that, according to European officials, is linked to tightened border controls and the intensified activity of human trafficking networks.
