According to Iraf News Agency, the statement, released today on Tuesday, January 6, emphasized that Iran’s national security, independence, and territorial integrity constitute absolute and non-negotiable red lines. Any action or continuation of hostile behavior will be met with a decisive, proportional, and determining response.
Referring to the established principles of legitimate self-defense, the Secretariat noted that Iran does not limit itself to responding only after a hostile act occurs, but also considers “objective signs of threat” as part of the country’s security equation. Accordingly, any threatening moves targeting national security are taken into account in Iran’s defense calculations and will be addressed.
The statement further stressed that while the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently emphasized constructive engagement, mutual respect, and avoidance of tension, it will employ its legal and legitimate capacities to defend the Iranian nation and territory against any threat or interventionist action.
In conclusion, the statement underscored that regional stability and security are achievable only through respect for the sovereignty of states and the avoidance of provocative actions, and that any attempt to undermine this stability will be met with a proportional response by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
