Historic Appointment of the First Shiite Minister in Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet

Tehran- IRAF- Citing official Saudi sources, the King of Saudi Arabia has issued a royal decree appointing Fahd bin Abduljalil bin Ali Al-Seif as Minister of Investment.

Al-Seif, who was born in the Eastern Province, is recognized as the first Shiite minister in the history of Saudi Arabia’s cabinet.

He has previously held key positions in the fields of finance and investment, including serving as head of the Public Debt Management Office at the Ministry of Finance, CEO of the National Debt Management Center, and holding roles within Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. He also has professional experience with international banks such as HSBC and SABB.

Al-Saif’s appointment comes as Khalid Al-Falih, the former Minister of Investment, has been appointed as Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers.

These changes are viewed as part of a cabinet rearrangement aimed at advancing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 projects.
