Reflection of the Massive February 11 (22 Bahman) Rally in Afghan Media; From the Presence of Iranian Leaders to the Participation of Migrants

Tehran IRAF- As ceremonies were held across different Iranian cities, Afghan media outlets republished photo and news reports highlighting various dimensions of the event.

Tamaddon TV, among Afghan media organizations, aired continuous reports on the large-scale marches in multiple cities and addressed the regional significance of the occasion. Its reports referred to the millions of participants in Tehran, Mashhad, and Qom.

Meanwhile, Ava News Agency also published reports showcasing different aspects of the massive 22 Bahman rally. According to Ava, the head of Tebyan Cultural Center and Ava News Agency participated in the anniversary march in Tehran.

Most Afghan media reports highlighted the widespread public turnout in Iran, as well as the presence of government officials, including ministers, members of parliament, senior military officers, and political leaders.

Some Afghan news websites shared images of public gatherings in Tehran and other Iranian cities on their official social media pages and, citing international media, analyzed the political and regional messages of the march.

In addition, several agencies published analytical articles examining the legacy of the Islamic Revolution. Saree News Agency released an article titled “Iran’s Islamic Revolution: A Symbol of Dignity for the Contemporary Muslim World” by Seyyed Abdolhamid Razavi, analyzing the revolution from a sociological perspective.

The article states in part: “From the perspective of political sociology, the Islamic Revolution represents a remarkable example of collective action and broad social participation—a movement that succeeded in bringing together diverse social groups around a shared discourse and shaping a new national and religious identity.”

Did News Agency, another Afghan media outlet, also reported on the significant participation of Afghan migrants residing in Iran in the 22 Bahman march.

Part of its report noted: “One of the largest public gatherings on 22 Bahman (February 11) this year was held in Mashhad, where Afghan migrants played a prominent role. This symbolic presence conveys a message of participation and solidarity between the two nations aimed at strengthening cultural and social ties. Their strong turnout reflects Afghans’ determination to support the divine ideals of the Islamic Revolution.”

On social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Telegram, and Facebook, Afghan users reshared images and videos from the ceremonies and commented on the political and social dimensions of the event.

Mohammad Mohaqeq, a member of the leadership council of the National Resistance Council for the Salvation of Afghanistan, congratulated the leadership, government, and people of Iran on the anniversary of the revolution.

In his message, he wrote: “The Islamic Revolution is facing a difficult, decisive, and fateful test. I hope the feet of the sons of the Messenger of God and Haidar al-Karrar do not falter in this arena, and that Ali’s Zulfaqar shines once again after 1,440 years, driving aggressors in disgrace from the land of Islam.”

Similarly, Mohammad Kazem Kazemi, a well-known Afghan poet, commemorated the anniversary by publishing a poem on his Facebook page. In his poem titled “Iran,” he wrote: “This poem is for dear Iran and its people. From my perspective, regardless of all other matters, it is a small gesture of gratitude toward this noble nation and this vital part of Persian civilization.”

On the other hand, Mohammad Na’eem, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Taliban, attended a ceremony marking the anniversary of the revolution at the Iranian Embassy in Kabul. He stated: “This historic occasion has been inspiring not only for Iran but for all freedom-seeking nations of the world. Iran and Afghanistan, as two Muslim and neighboring countries, can present a model of constructive cooperation, regional collaboration, and the peaceful resolution of issues.”
