Tehran- IRAF- Citing Afghan sports news sources, while the official global and Asian futsal rankings have not yet been released by international governing bodies, credible but unofficial sources have indicated that Afghanistan’s national futsal team is now ranked among the top four teams in Asia.
Based on these reports, Afghanistan stands fourth in Asia, behind Iran, Japan, and Indonesia.
This progress comes as Afghanistan’s national futsal team delivered a notable performance during the AFC Futsal Asian Cup, advancing from the group stage but being eliminated in the quarterfinals after a defeat against Japan.
Recent performances by the team in both official and friendly matches have also been cited as contributing factors to Afghanistan’s potential improvement in the new rankings.
In the previous rankings, Afghanistan was placed seventh in Asia and 28th globally. A rise to fourth place in Asia, if officially confirmed would represent the best ranking ever achieved by Afghan futsal.
According to informed sources, the official rankings are expected to be released after the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations, which is currently underway.
Until then, this information remains unofficial, and final confirmation awaits announcements from international futsal authorities.
