Tehran- IRAF- The Afghan Embassy in Tehran has announced changes in the way its consular services are provided. As part of these changes, the embassy’s consular section has resumed operations in a limited capacity and solely for specific services.
Based on the embassy’s announcement, the currently active consular services include passport renewal, delivery of printed (electronic) passports for applicants who had previously submitted their requests, and migrant affairs. The migrant affairs section is operating only for the registration of Hajj applicants and the issuance of death certificates.
The Afghan Embassy in Tehran has also announced the reopening of its legal affairs section. According to the statement, services that had previously been listed as “suspended” are now being provided through the embassy’s legal department.
Services available through the legal section include the issuance of marriage certificates and certificates of single status, document authentication, preparation of various powers of attorney, issuance of birth certificates, issuance of certificates of no criminal record, and the preparation of affidavits.
The embassy further emphasized that the sections for renewing handwritten passports, delivering printed passports, and registering Hajj applicants remain active in accordance with previous announcements. However, the sections related to new passport applications and identity verification remain closed.
