Tehran-IRAF- citing Ava News Agency, Seyed Morteza Mahmoudi, spokesperson of the Joint Commission reviewing the bill on the establishment of the National Migration Organization and the regulation of foreign nationals, explained the details of the commission’s meeting held on Monday, February 1.
He stated that the meeting was held with the participation of the majority of members and focused on continuing the review of the articles of the bill establishing the National Migration Organization.
Referring to the process of reviewing articles sent to working groups, Mahmoudi added that after receiving lawmakers’ views, disputed provisions were once again discussed in the Joint Commission and put to a vote. The commission aims to review the bill swiftly yet with due diligence, so that it can be prepared as soon as possible for consideration in an open session of Parliament.
The representative of Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat, Eslamshahr, and Pardis in the Islamic Consultative Assembly continued that it was decided that certain disputed articles and sections—those facing ambiguity or objections from some members—would be re‑examined by a specialized working group. The final report will then be submitted to the commission to enable rapid decision‑making and to pave the way for the pilot implementation of the bill.
