Tehran- IRAF, Hedayatollah Badri, the acting minister, visited Herat province as part of an official trip and inspected the progress of the Herat cement project. During the visit, he stressed the importance of speeding up implementation of the project.
Badri said; the completion of the Herat cement project on a proper time would play a key role in boosting domestic cement production and would generate hundreds of new employment opportunities for local residents.
Multiple Cement Contracts Signed
The Taliban Ministry of Mines and Petroleum reported that since the group returned to power, multiple contracts have been signed for large-scale cement projects in various provinces across Afghanistan. These moves have been described as part of efforts to develop national industries and reduce reliance on imports.
Investors Seek Cement Plant in Kunduz
Meanwhile, a group of domestic and foreign investors on Tuesday met with Habibullah Sahib, the Taliban’s deputy governor in Kunduz province, and requested permission to establish a large cement production plant in the province. The request reflects growing private-sector interest in investing in Afghanistan’s cement industry.
