Tehran- IRAF- The European Union has recently designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization, a move that has drawn a strong reaction from Tehran.
In an official statement, the IRGC described the decision as “hostile, lacking credibility, and devoid of legal and political legitimacy,” emphasizing that it runs counter to the principles and logic governing international relations.
The statement stressed that, such actions will in no way undermine the resolve or missions of the IRGC; rather, they will strengthen internal cohesion and reinforce national determination to safeguard the country’s interests and security.
The IRGC also characterized the European Union’s approach as aligned with the interventionist policies of the United States, noting that this decision overlooks the destabilizing role of certain crisis‑provoking regional actors, particularly the Zionist regime.
Elsewhere in the statement, it was emphasized that such measures not only fail to contribute to regional peace and security but also, by intensifying confrontation, will further obstruct the path of constructive engagement and cooperation between Iran and Europe.
Political analysts , believe that the European Union’s decision could have far‑reaching consequences for Iran–Europe relations, potentially deepening divisions and mistrust—effects that are likely to manifest across political, economic, and security domains as well.
