Tehran- IRAF- Ayatollah Khamenei, speaking today on Sunday, February 1, to a large public audience, referred to recent events in the country and stated:
“The recent sedition and unrest resembled a coup, which was fortunately neutralized and suppressed by the vigilance of the people and the on-the-ground presence of revolutionary forces. The goal of the rioters was to destroy key and influential centers involved in governing the country. That is why we witnessed attacks on police stations, government centers, the Basij, banks, and even mosques, along with insults to sacred values. They targeted institutions that run the country, and this movement had a nature similar to a coup.”
Leader Warns the United States: Any Attack Will Turn into a Widespread Regional War
Referring to repeated threats by U.S. officials, he added:
“Their recent statements about war and the display of aircraft carriers and fighter jets are nothing new. Americans have always spoken the language of threats throughout history and repeatedly claim that ‘all options are on the table.’ Even now, someone like Trump constantly engages in bluster. But they should know that the Iranian nation will not be intimidated or frightened by such rhetoric.”
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed:
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is not the initiator of war and has no intention of attacking any country. However, if anyone seeks to attack or harm this nation, the Iranian people will deliver a decisive blow in response. Americans must clearly understand that if they start a war, this time its scope will not be limited and it will certainly turn into a widespread regional war.”
