Tehran- IRAF- U.S. President Donald Trump said today (Sunday, February 1) in a post on his social media platform that, citing classified documents, Tulsi Gabbard, the U.S. Director of National Intelligence, had released hundreds of classified documents related to the so-called “Russiagate” case. Trump claimed these documents show that Obama personally ordered elements within the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to produce fabricated intelligence against him. Trump accused former U.S. President Barack Obama of being behind the “fabricated” allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election.
Allegation of an Electoral “Political Coup”
Trump claimed that during the 2016 election campaign, Obama attempted to orchestrate a “political coup” against him by exploiting the so-called “Russia” case and seeking to undermine the legitimacy of his electoral victory.
The U.S. president described Obama’s actions as an attempt to weaken public trust in American democracy and election results, and concluded his message by stating: “Arrest Obama immediately!”
These remarks come amid ongoing domestic political conflict in the United States over cases related to allegations of “foreign interference.” In recent years, Western media have repeatedly raised accusations against Russia in this regard, which Moscow has consistently denied, describing them as political and lacking any real factual basis.
Trump’s accusations against Obama come as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has recently seized documents related to the 2020 U.S. election—an election in which Trump lost to Joe Biden.
According to the report, Trump has intensified pressure in recent weeks to pursue legal action against his political rivals.
