Wall Street Journal: Iran Can Change Regional Equations with Thousands of Missiles

Tehran- IRAF- Iraf- The report states that a major part of this capability has not only been preserved but has been developed in recent years.

Thousands of Missiles with Range Covering the Entire Region

The report claims that Iran possesses several thousand ballistic missiles, with about two thousand of them falling into the medium-range category. These missiles have a range that allows them to target various objectives across West Asia and even the occupied territories from deep within Iranian soil.

The Wall Street Journal writes that this volume of missile capability has been one of the main factors of concern for Washington in recent years.

Naval and Drone Capabilities; Complementing Missile Power

The American media outlet also pointed to Iran’s naval and drone capabilities, stating that Tehran, in addition to ballistic missiles, has significant stockpiles of anti-ship cruise missiles, fast attack boats equipped with torpedoes, and a large fleet of combat and reconnaissance drones.

According to the report, these assets could pose a serious threat to U.S. naval vessels in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Vulnerability of U.S. Assets in the Region

Citing a report from the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations, the Wall Street Journal writes that Washington has dozens of military bases and facilities in the West Asia region, from Turkey to Kuwait.

Approximately 40,000 American troops are stationed at these bases, which has led the U.S. to dedicate a significant portion of its defensive capabilities to protecting these forces and equipment.

Meanwhile, based on data published in recent months, Iran is increasing its production capacity for ballistic missiles.

Some Western sources claim that Tehran has purchased thousands of tons of solid missile fuel from China, which could be used to produce hundreds of new missiles.

These reports also suggest that part of these materials may be transferred to Iran’s allied groups in the region.
