Tehran- IRAF- The “Polio-Free Afghanistan” page announced that the first polio vaccination campaign in Afghanistan for the year 2026 will begin next week, February 2 across the country.
This comes as, in 2025, nine positive cases of polio were recorded in the provinces of Uruzgan, Helmand, Badghis, Noorestan, Paktika, and Farah.
So far this year, no positive cases of polio have been reported in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan and Pakistan are currently the only two countries in the world where polio has not yet been eradicated.
