Tehran- IRAF- The match was held on Wednesday, January 28, in Indonesia and was of great importance for Afghanistan’s qualification hopes. The team, coached by Majid Morteza’i, entered the match with high concentration and determination.
In the first half, Afghanistan dominated the game with high pressing, greater possession, and an attacking tempo. This superiority was rewarded when Reza Hosseinpour scored a precise goal to give Afghanistan a 1–0 lead heading into halftime. Solid defensive organization and confident goalkeeping prevented Saudi Arabia from creating any serious scoring chances.
In the second half, Afghanistan maintained its offensive pressure and scored twice more. Reza Hosseinpour netted his second goal of the match, followed by a well-placed strike from Omid Ghanbari, sealing a convincing 3–0 victory.
This valuable win significantly strengthens Afghanistan’s position in Group D qualification scenarios and boosts hopes of advancing to the next stage of the tournament.
