Tehran-IRAF- Alireza Marhamati stated at a press conference that the development of economic, trade, and transit cooperation with Afghanistan remains a priority for Tehran.
Referring to the continuation of regional cooperation despite existing challenges, Marhamati stressed that recent events, despite causing human and financial losses, have not been able to halt the process of regional cooperation, and that the management and performance of relevant institutions have played a decisive role in navigating these conditions.
Foundations of Relations: Good Neighborliness and Shared Interests
The Iranian Consul General noted that relations between Tehran and Kabul are based on good neighborliness, mutual trust, and shared interests, and that both sides are striving to maintain these ties along a path of stability and cooperation.
Marhamati described the reactions and expressions of solidarity by Afghan citizens with the Iranian people following recent events as an indication of the depth of relations between the two nations, emphasizing that this social capital plays an important role in sustaining bilateral relations.
He added: “Public reactions in Afghanistan reflect the historical, cultural, and religious ties between the two countries and demonstrate that temporary developments do not disrupt these relations.”
