Tehran- IRAF- The French Socialist Party has included Reza Rezaei—who holds dual Afghan and French citizenship—on its electoral list as its candidate for mayor of Alfortville.
If the Socialist Party wins the election, Rezaei will serve in the city’s senior municipal leadership for a six‑year term.
Reza Rezaei entered France as a refugee in 2000 and is currently a member of the French Socialist Party.
He is also one of the senior officials of an institution known as “Kolbeh‑ye Doust” (Friends’ Lodge), which in recent years has hosted several expert‑level meetings on developments and the situation in Afghanistan.
This candidacy is regarded as an example of the active participation of migrants in managerial and political spheres across Europe.
