Tehran-IRAF- The rightful protests of Tehran’s Bazaar merchants over economic and livelihood hardships began completely calm, peaceful, and civilized. The protests began calmly and peacefully, recognized from the very outset by the highest executive officials of the country, who provided legitimate and clear channels for expressing and following up on the demands—channels that had acceptable outcomes and could have led to the expected results.
But why did these “protests” turn into “riots”? And how did street unrest so quickly shift into gruesome acts of terrorism of the American–Israeli type—atrocities previously seen in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and Gaza?
The Distortion of Protests into Riots
The protests by bazaar merchants following the fluctuations in exchange rates – which is, in itself, an example of economic terrorism imposed by circles affiliated with the United States and its allies against the people of Iran – began spontaneously. However, Mossad-affiliated terrorists, with prior planning, intervened to divert the path of protests towards riots and then terrorism.
The legitimate and peaceful protests were on the right track and would have led to the expected results; however, foreign enemies, led by the President of the United States, the despicable and isolated Zionist regime, and their domestic mercenaries, realizing that peaceful and civilized protests would not lead to subversive riots, quickly entered the scene.
The Zionist regime, which failed to achieve its goals after two years of genocide in Gaza and was severely defeated in the 12-day war, once again set its sights on internal protests in Iran and officially announced that 40,000 Mossad mercenaries were ready to incite chaos and riots in the streets of Iran.
The President of the United States, who has dealt the final blow to international law by kidnapping the leader of an independent country and attempting to illegally acquire Greenland, aligning with the Tel Aviv regime, used inflammatory rhetoric and propaganda threats to fuel the Zionist-instigated chaos in the streets of Iran. When the riots escalated, he made a laughable claim: “We took Mashhad!”
The Overthrow Model: From Small, Marginal, and Border Cities to the Center
It was clear that a foreign interventionist project was designed to overthrow the Islamic Republic system, aiming to weaken the government’s authority in small cities and border provinces first, ultimately leading to a final blow through direct foreign intervention to determine the fate of Tehran.
This pattern was unlike other overthrow attempts in previous years, which had failed. This time, terrorists and their supporters sought to create chaos and riots in small cities, weaken the government’s authority, and then expand the riots and terrorist actions to large cities and ultimately the capital.
That’s why cities like Marvdasht and Abadan became hubs for riots and terrorist sabotage. Street riots, norm-breaking chants, creating fear and terror, staging killings, attacking public places, burning chain stores, banks, city buses, administrative and service centers, even destroying ambulances and fire trucks and attacking public service personnel, were just a part of the heinous terrorist actions that followed Trump’s and Netanyahu’s incitements and the call of the Pahlavi regime, creating scenes that could only be seen in war-torn areas like Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, and Gaza.
