Iran and Egypt Stress Immediate International Action Against Zionist Regime’s Crimes

Tehran- IRAF- Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Thursday (Jan. 23) to discuss bilateral relations and key regional and international developments, including the Gaza Peace Council meeting in Davos.

Referring to the ongoing violations and repeated breaches of the ceasefire by the Zionist regime, the foreign ministers of Iran and Egypt emphasized the urgent need for international action to stop the regime’s crimes.

During the conversation, the Egyptian foreign minister expressed regret over the prevention of his Iranian counterpart’s participation in the Davos meeting.

Emphasis on Continued Consultations to Strengthen Relations and Regional Stability

The two sides stressed the continuation of consultations to strengthen bilateral relations and coordinate on regional and international issues. They described this process as part of ongoing diplomacy aimed at preserving stability and security in the region.

Earlier this week, the two foreign ministers also reviewed bilateral relations and agreed to continue talks to further develop cooperation. In their recent call, they also discussed the latest regional developments, particularly the situations in Lebanon and Gaza.

These discussions come as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has withdrawn from the Gaza Peace Council meeting in Davos, Switzerland, due to fears of arrest under an International Criminal Court ruling. He had previously accepted an invitation from Donald Trump to join the council.
