Tehran- IRAF-The Public Relations Department of the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan issued a statement, stating that in response to the invitation from the President of the United States to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the country wishes to announce its decision to join the Gaza Peace Council as part of its ongoing efforts to support the implementation of the Gaza peace plan under the framework of UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
Pakistan expressed hope that this framework will lead to concrete steps towards the implementation of a permanent ceasefire, increased humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, and the reconstruction of Gaza.
The Pakistani government also hopes that these efforts will result in the realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination through a legitimate, timed, and internationally recognized political process, in accordance with relevant UN resolutions, ultimately leading to the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan emphasized that it looks forward to playing a constructive role as part of the Peace Council to achieve these goals and bring an end to the suffering of its Palestinian brothers and sisters.
