Tehran- IRAF- General “Reza Muhammad”, former Pakistani Ambassador to Mauritius, wrote an article analyzing the consequences of the Trump administration’s policies and warned that US unilateralism has pushed the world towards instability.
In an article titled “Where is Trump’s World Order Headed” in the Express Tribune Islamabad, he pointed to cases such as US adventures in the region, aggression against Venezuela, full support for Israel, and continued pressure on Iran.
General Reza Muhammad wrote that Trump is following the “Monroe Doctrine”, which is primarily aimed at destabilizing the region. Pakistan needs balanced relations with global powers to overcome this challenge.
Combination of Military and Civilian Tools
This military expert emphasized: With a hybrid approach, Trump uses a combination of military and civilian tools to regain America’s global hegemonic position, without accepting responsibility as a state-centric actor. He also resorts to deception and utilizing various currents, while pretending to negotiate.
He described Trump as an extremist who prioritizes the revival of “The Great America”, without considering the costs that others will bear.
According to him, a law-based and internationally-right-based global order ranks second in Trump’s policy priorities.
Modeling the attack on Venezuela and threatening small countries
Former Pakistani Ambassador warned: The US attack on Venezuela can become a model for larger powers, threatening the security of small countries. This action can lead to the formation of secondary fronts or security dependence on regional powers.
Long-term sanctions against Iran and the goal of forced behavioral change
He pointed to the long-term US sanctions against Iran and the intervention of intelligence services in recent protests, stating: The goal of the United States is to create forced behavioral change in Iran and compel it to accept US and Israeli hegemony in the Middle East and Africa.
Preferred Solution: Negotiation and Peaceful Coexistence
The former diplomat emphasized: For Iran and the US, a negotiated and mediated agreement to achieve peaceful coexistence is a less costly solution economically, humanly, and militarily.
He stated that Pakistan is in a difficult situation and added that instability in Iran could also affect Pakistan’s security. The lack of cooperation from Afghanistan in countering terrorists active against Pakistan complicates this challenge.
General Reza Muhammad concluded: Pakistan must use all political and diplomatic tools to pressure Afghanistan and keep its relations with China and the US separate. To improve the economy and ensure security, we must establish good relations with all regional and extra-regional countries.
