What Was Discussed in Muscat? Larijani’s Meeting with the Sultan of Oman

Tehran- IRAF- the official Omani News Agency reported today on Tuesday, February 10, that Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, met and held talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq during his official visit to Muscat.

The meeting took place at Al Baraka Palace in a formal and cordial atmosphere, during which a range of sensitive regional and international issues were discussed.

In this meeting, the latest developments regarding the indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States were discussed in particular detail.

Both sides stressed the necessity of reaching a balanced and fair agreement that can secure the interests of both parties. They also underscored the importance of returning to dialogue and negotiations in order to narrow differences and resolve disputes through peaceful means.

During the meeting, the Sultan of Oman welcomed Larijani’s visit and emphasized the role of dialogue in creating lasting peace and security in the region and the world. He noted that only through constructive engagement and the avoidance of tension can the groundwork for stability and development be established.

Larijani, for his part, expressed appreciation for Oman’s role in facilitating diplomatic processes and emphasized the importance of continuing close consultations between the two countries.

Beyond its political dimension, the meeting also reflected the longstanding and friendly relations between Iran and Oman. While reviewing past cooperation, both sides agreed to expand relations across various fields and to continue close consultations on sensitive regional issues.

Analysts believe that Larijani’s recent visit to Muscat once again highlighted Oman’s position as an active mediator and an influential actor in regional diplomatic processes—a country that has consistently sought to build bridges between different parties and to pave the way for dialogue and mutual understanding.
