Tehran- IRAF- Citing Al‑Alam TV, Sheikh Na’im Qassem, Secretary‑General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, delivered a speech at a rally expressing the Lebanese people’s solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran and condemning insults against Imam Khamenei. The gathering is being held at the Seyyed al‑Shohada Complex.
He stated: “We have gathered here to declare our solidarity with and support for the Islamic Republic of Iran and its inspiring leader, Imam Seyyed Ali Khamene’i. On the occasion of the advent of the blessed month of Sha‘ban—the month of the Messenger of God and the birth of the Imams and a prelude to the holy month of Ramadan—I extend my congratulations to all Muslims. Imam Khamenei is for us a Wali al‑Faqih and a ruler who bears responsibility during the period of the Occultation of Imam Mahdi (May God hasten His reappearance) and is the deputy of this infallible Imam. We believe in the leadership of the Wali al‑Faqih.”
He continued: “We will not remain neutral in the face of any aggression against Iran”.
The Hezbollah Secretary‑General said that the United States began confronting the Islamic Republic from the moment it came to power and launched a war against Iran through Iraq that lasted eight years.
Threatening Ayatollah Khamene’i Means Threatening Millions of His Supporters
Sheikh Naim Qassem added: “We salute the Islamic Republic and say that it is the crown upon our heads, and we tell the Leader of the Islamic Revolution that we will always stand by your side. Imam Khamenei is our guardian and our leader, and any threat against him is a threat against tens of millions of people. When Trump threatens Imam Khamenei, he is in fact threatening tens of millions who follow him. We must confront this threat with full strength and readiness, because any attack on Imam Khamenei amounts to an assassination of stability and order in the region and the world, given the vast number of supporters and admirers of the Wali al‑Faqih.”
He emphasized: “We take this threat seriously and consider it a threat against ourselves, and we have full authority to adopt whatever measures we deem appropriate to confront it. The United States has been confronting the Islamic Republic since 1979 (1357) because it cannot tolerate the existence of a free and independent country that serves as a reference point for Muslims and the oppressed around the world.”
The Hezbollah Secretary‑General also said that the United States launched a war against Iran through Iraq, which lasted for eight years, during which various types of weapons were used and millions of dollars were spent in an attempt to overthrow Iran, but ultimately it failed. He stated that the establishment of the Islamic Republic and the success of its revolution constituted the greatest blow to the United States and Israel. He added that Iran also resisted the 12‑day war and, under the leadership of Imam Khamenei, was able to thwart the plans of the United States and Israel.
Enemies Sought to Collapse Iran from Within Through Economic Pressure
He emphasized that the enemies sought to bring about Iran’s collapse through economic pressure, and that they sent saboteurs among protesters who targeted security forces and civilians, setting fire to mosques, vehicles, and facilities.
Sheikh Naim Qassem said that; over the past two months, many parties had raised a clear question regarding Hezbollah’s intervention in the event of a U.S. and Israeli attack on Iran. He said their response was: “In the event of potential aggression, we will be targeted and we are determined to defend ourselves. At that time, we will decide how to act—whether to intervene or not—but we will not remain neutral. Who said that defense is limited to parity of power? Defense means preventing the enemy from achieving its objectives.”
He added that some had planned to turn Lebanon into part of “Israel” and to sell Lebanese land to it. “We stand for truth, dignity, the homeland, the liberation of land, and loyalty to the martyrs and the honorable families who have made sacrifices and continue to do so,” he said.
Peace by Force Means Tyranny and Colonialism Through Power
He stated that peace imposed by force means tyranny and colonialism through the use of power, and that the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza reflects brutality and criminality with Western participation, and cannot be described as Israel’s so‑called right to security.
Sheikh Naim Qassem stressed that a war against Iran this time could set the entire region ablaze. He said Hezbollah would never be among those who facilitate such actions and expressed hope that they could be neutralized. “With defense, hope for major possibilities still exists,” he said, adding that the United States seeks to dominate the entire world and, in cooperation with Israel, aims to strike all resistance projects in the region.
