Tehran- IRAF- The recent unrest and events in the Islamic Republic of Iran have sparked widespread reactions among political and social activists in Afghanistan. The United States and Israel, with their malicious schemes, remain long-standing enemies of both Iran and Afghanistan, as shown over various periods of time.
Taliban Officials: Iran Protects Its Sovereignty
Amir Khan Muttaqi, acting minister of foreign affairs of the Taliban, spoke in a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, Seyed Abbas Araqchi, discussing regional and bilateral developments, emphasizing the fight against terrorism and foreign interference.
In the conversation, Muttaqi condemned Trump’s interference in Iran’s internal affairs and stated that the Iranian government and people would safeguard their security and sovereignty through national unity and cohesion.
Rahmatullah Faizan, deputy representative of the Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Herat, emphasized the strategic and calculative failure of the United States in the region, warning that any military action against Iran would be a major error. He stressed that internal matters of any country are the responsibility of its officials and that U.S. interference in Iran constitutes a clear violation of international law.
Faizan also highlighted the massive presence of the Iranian people on the ground, stating that the enemy had assumed these pressures would cause psychological and social collapse within Iran. The reality, however, clearly disproved this assumption. He continued that, contrary to U.S. and Israeli expectations, the Iranian nation, through national unity and internal cohesion, defended its sovereignty and responded to external threats—actions that not only thwarted enemy plans but also shifted the regional security balance.
Additionally, Abdul Latif Nazari, technical deputy of the Taliban Ministry of Economy, wrote that with the decline of Western power and the strengthening of the Eastern axis, the United States is compelled to choose engagement and dialogue with Iran over military confrontation. Nazari noted that the U.S. currently faces serious challenges in soft power and international legitimacy. He added that Iran has foiled U.S. and Israeli schemes, strengthened its position in the emerging global order through deeper ties with Eastern powers, and warned that any military attack on Iran would backfire.
Afghan People Stand with Iran
Since the beginning of the unrest and the terrorist attacks carried out by trained mercenaries, Afghan social activists, migrants, and public opinion have demonstrated solidarity with the Iranian people, proving their friendship and brotherhood.
The Afghan people, having endured forty years of U.S.-imposed civil war, understand Iran’s situation better than most nations and stand alongside them. An Afghan social activist, in a video addressed to Iranian youth, urged them not to be deceived by U.S. schemes, plots, or empty promises. He stressed that the Afghan people suffered from the same false promises and conspiracies, enduring forty years of war and insecurity.
This activist warned that Iran’s enemies, especially the United States, constantly seek to incite Iranians against their government and ultimately exploit crises for their own benefit. His remarks recalled the period when the U.S. invaded Afghanistan under the pretext of bringing peace and democracy, halting Afghanistan’s development for twenty years and inflicting irreparable losses on its people.
Despite the complexity of the comprehensive U.S. attack on Islamic Iran, the Iranian nation, guided by the wise leadership of the Supreme Leader, responded to the interventions and plots of Trump and Netanyahu through massive public presence.
Afghan Migrants on the Right Side of History
During the terrorist attacks orchestrated by domestic affiliates of Israel and the U.S., Afghan migrants in Iran, with intelligence and vigilance, stood alongside the Iranian people on the right side of history, blocking any misuse or exploitation by hostile media.
In migrant communities and social networks, activists emphasized that while the Iranian people’s protests are to be respected, participation in illegal gatherings is forbidden. When opportunists and U.S.- and Israeli-trained forces tried to turn popular protests into riots, Afghan migrants across Iranian cities stood shoulder to shoulder with the Iranian nation, actively participating in the massive public presence on Jan. 12.
Their solidarity demonstrated once again that the peoples of Iran and Afghanistan fully recognize their enemies and, in critical historical moments, respond firmly to Israeli–American conspiracies and plots.
