Tehran- IRAF, Rasmus Jarlov, a Danish parliamentarian, told CNN: “If Trump occupies Greenland, there will be war.”
He emphasized: “If Trump orders US forces to invade Greenland, it will be considered a declaration of war, and we will fight back.”
This comes as Greenland is an autonomous island under the Kingdom of Denmark’s sovereignty. Previously, the island’s people and the European Union had rejected US President Donald Trump’s request to annex the island.
Dutch Foreign Minister, Van Ville, responded to Trump’s threat to impose tariffs on Europeans unless they agree to sell Greenland to the US, saying: “What he’s doing is extortion.”
US officials had previously claimed that their attempt to acquire Greenland was to prevent Chinese and Russian influence in the region. However, the Danish government has categorically denied this claim.
