Afghanistan Becomes the Top Export Destination for Iran’s Printed Products; 110% Growth in 9 Months

According to Iraf, Abbas Zare, Director General of the Printing Office at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, said today (Tuesday, December 29) in an interview with IBNA that exports of printed products to Afghanistan have increased significantly.

Zare stated that in the first nine months of 1403 (Iranian calendar year), approximately 23,000 tons of printed products worth nearly 10 trillion tomans were exported to Afghanistan.

Referring to official statistics as well as some unofficial data, he emphasized that this figure represents an increase of about 110% compared with the same period last year.

According to Zare, in the first nine months of last year, exports in this sector amounted to approximately 2.1 trillion tomans, which has now risen to around 10 trillion tomans.

Product Diversity and Readiness to Expand Cooperation

Zare noted the growing diversity of exported products, saying that the number of different types of printed products exported to Afghanistan increased from 18 items last year to 25 items this year. These include products such as labels, boxes, and packaging wrappers.

He described Afghanistan as the primary destination for Iran’s printed exports and expressed hope that, given the existing capacities of Iran’s printing industry, cooperation in this field would continue to expand.

The Director General also referred to a recent visit by representatives of Tajikistan’s Ministry of Culture to Iranian printing centers, stating that Iran’s printing industry is ready to leverage these capacities to expand economic interactions and exports further.
