Eight-Hour Arrest of Mashhad Terror Suspect Underscores Iran’s Criminal Identification Capacity

Iraf: The primary players responsible for this story can be identified at three levels:

  1. Media currents aligned with the first suspect (H.S.).
  2. Networks affiliated with the security services of certain regional countries and Saudi Arabia.
  3. Circles of regional politico-security actors whose mission is not the discovery of truth, but rather stimulate the perception.

The purpose of creating this story is clear: first, to make talented individuals feel unsafe, unprotected, and unstable so they will leave.

Second, it seeks to undermine Iran’s hegemonic position within Afghanistan’s security equation and to transform Tehran, in the minds of Afghans, from a “secure strategic depth” into a “strategic risk.”

This operation doesn’t need a strong reasoning; rather, it relies on repetition, emotional stimulation, and fear. What is deliberately ignored, however, is the Islamic Republic of Iran’s recognized record and behavioral pattern in dealing with such incidents.

In previous cases, including the assassination of the famous Haji in Mashhad, Iran acted with speed, decisiveness, and precision. Within less than eight hours, the perpetrator—who had direct links to the security apparatus of a neighboring country—was identified and detained. This is not a claim, but a documented operational instance.
